This policy explains what personal data Jerskit (“we”) processes when you visit jerskit.com, why we process it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect
The contact form. When you send a request, we store the name, e-mail address, company name, selected plan and message you provide, together with the IP address from which the request was submitted, the browser user agent, the language version used and the time of submission.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records requests made to the website. These records may include the IP address, date and time of access, requested URL, referrer URL, access status and browser user agent.
Language preference. If you choose a language, we store that choice in a cookie named `lang` for one year. When your first visit is redirected based on your country, a cookie named `geo` records that the redirection has already taken place so that you are not redirected again.
Session cookie. A cookie named `jerskit_sess` keeps the contact form session active and protects the form against cross-site request forgery. This cookie expires when you close your browser.
Country lookup. To direct first-time visitors to the appropriate language version, we determine the country associated with their IP address. The IP address is submitted to the country lookup service provided by ip-api.com. The country lookup result is cached for 30 days.
The cookies described above are used solely to provide the website functions requested by the visitor and to ensure the security and proper operation of the website. They are not used for advertising or behavioural tracking.
Why, and on what legal basis
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- To answer your request and take steps at your request before entering into a contract. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where necessary, processing is also based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- To keep the website secure, functional and protected against abuse, spam and attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- To display the website in an appropriate language and remember your language choice. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a usable service under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- To use technically necessary cookies required for the operation and security of the website and for language selection. These cookies are used in accordance with Section 25(2) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).
We do not currently use analytics, advertising or behavioural tracking services.
How long we keep it
- Contact requests: For up to 24 months after the last exchange, unless the request leads to a business relationship or statutory commercial, tax or legal retention obligations require a longer period.
- Server logs: Hetzner Apache access and error logs are normally retained for 7 days by default. A different period may apply if the hosting account configuration is changed or longer retention is temporarily necessary to investigate a security incident.
- Country lookup results: 30 days.
- Language and country-redirection cookies: One year.
- Session cookie: Until you close your browser.
When personal data is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected and no statutory retention obligation applies, it will be deleted.

The service receives the visitor’s IP address solely for the purpose of determining the associated country.
We do not currently load third-party analytics, advertising pixels or behavioural tracking services. We do not sell personal data and do not use personal data for advertising.
Transfers outside the EEA
The providers currently listed in this policy are established within the European Economic Area.
If a service provider processes personal data outside the EEA in the future, such a transfer will only take place where an adequacy decision applies or appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. This policy will be updated accordingly.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you may ask us to:
- provide access to the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- delete your personal data;
- restrict the processing of your personal data;
- provide your data in a portable format;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests; or
- withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
